Upton Railway Station is currently falling short on accessibility. Currently there is no step free access at the station, making it difficult for wheelchair users to use the station. This limits people's ability to make the most of work, education and leisure opportunities.
Upton campaigner Emma Sellman said "there's no ramp down from the road, which, as a wheelchair user, makes it difficult for me to get down to the platform. I see mums with young children who have the same problem trying to take young children onto the train in a pram."
I believe that everyone should have the same opportunities to get around and get ahead. That's why, working with local people, I will be campaigning to ask Merseytravel to work harder to make Upton Station and all stations accessible for all.
