Wirral West MP candidate Laura Evans has welcomed the positive news that Merseyside Police will be able to recruit 200 new police officers next year to help keep our streets safe.
This comes after the government announced £100 million of additional ringfenced funding to pay for increased police presence and patrolling to make our streets safer.
Commenting on the announcement, Laura said “This is just the start of action being taken to crack down on crime and make our streets safer. The Government is equipping police officers with the powers and resources they need to protect themselves and others from harm.
Through empowering the police to help keep our communities safe we are sending a clear message to criminals to think twice before committing offences.”
It is vital that we see the benefits here in Wirral West, on our streets and in our community. For too long Wirral West and the residents are being left out in the cold when it comes to getting their fair share of resources from the police and crime Commissioner. Laura is committed to doing all she can to make sure we see the benefits herein Wirral West.
